Minutes of 08-17-06
Present: Selectmen Bruce Van Derven; Selectman Steve Favorite; Joe Denning and Paul Fraser, Town Administrator Bob Veloski and the administrative secretary. (Selectman Alpers was absent from the meeting.)
The meeting was called to order at 6:30pm.
Town Administrator Items:
Alarm system (panic buttons) estimate of $900 to repair system
Emergency Lights in TOB currently getting quotes for repairs
Lakeshore Village Bob V to follow up with Ins Co. The Highway Dept. will be making repairs to the drainage area/culvert and will secure the rocks on the embankment.
Planning Board members currently recruiting members. A brief discussion on the possibility of having a subcommittee to work solely on the Master Plan.
Letter from Dave Powden Cost of dump stickers and the extra cost to dispose of other types of waste. Mr. Powden felt that it is paid for through the property taxes and there should be no further cost involved to tax payers. Bob Veloski to write letter to Mr. Powden stating that the BOS is also concerned with the costs associated with the solid waste system and they would like to wait until the new Town Manager is here before making any substantial changes.
GASBE34 Estimate at $6650 to implement (Glick Consulting) BOS directed that this figure be included in next years budget.
Police Building Project RFPs closing on 8/30
Personnel Policy Committee 1st meeting scheduled for 8/31
Health Officer/Code Enforcement Officer (hold until new TM is here)
Bike Path update meeting tomorrow
The Board briefly discussed the used ladder truck and the general understanding of everyone who attended the Budget Committee meeting on Monday evening. Debate took place over the cost of replacing the brakes and what information was presented to the Budget Committee. Joe Denning stated that he had talked with Norm and the $700 was to come out of the Fire Dept. budget.
Motion by Paul Fraser to enter non-public session according to RSA 91:A-3 (b) hiring a public employee; seconded by Bruce Van Derven; Roll call vote polled by the secretary resulted in all four board members voting "aye" to enter non-public session. With all board members voting in the affirmative, the BOS entered non-public session at 7:58pm.
The Board returned to public session at 8:12pm.
No decisions, motions or votes taken during the non-public session.
A brief discussion took place over upcoming events. Payroll and accounts payable manifests were reviewed and signed by the Board.
No further business conducted.
Motion by BVD to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Joe Denning. Vote was unanimous to adjourn.
The meeting adjourned at 8:29pm.
