Selectman Alpers reported that the new fire truck had arrived at noontime today. Lily Pond Communications will be in to install the radio equipment. He explained that it will be 3-4 weeks before it is in full service. There are several things that need to be done such as the lettering and training for all crew members.

Selectman Van Derven handed out an organizational chart of the current system vs. how it would be under a town manager form of government. He explained that Clay Dingman had put this together. Discussion on the format and who had authority over which department, horizontal vs. "above" placement, what should be included and what should not be, as well as ad hoc committees and their placement. The Board agreed to take out the references to the ad hoc committees as they might be misconstrued on this diagram as having "authority" over another department. Bruce will work with Clay Dingman on the agreed to changes and email them to Rick and Susan for review before printing them up.

The SAU office declined the Board’s invitation to attend tonight’s meeting to discuss the school budget and budget process. Selectman Alpers stated that there are problems with how the default budget is calculated. "We need to discuss these problems and make sure we don’t do it again. Let’s find out why there is $400,000 of float in the default budget." Mr. Alpers stated that he would like to keep communications going instead of letting it drop by the wayside. Discussion took place over what Bristol could do and what the other towns were doing to help solve the problem. The Board agreed that they would like to continue working with the SAU in keeping communications open from both sides.

Selectman Van Derven recommended that if people have a question about the school budget, go and ask (questions) so you (voters) can make an informed decision.

Dawn Reynolds said she would like to thank the BOS for helping to solve the problems with the old mica building.

Susan Duncan inquired about the boiler inspections which have been forwarded to the insurance company.

Lake St car wash – the neighbors have been contacted and are happy with the shading of the lights.

The Board reviewed and signed the weekly manifests.
