Bristol Police Department Activity Report

June 2007 - September 2007

 

Full Departmental staffing acquired by June 30, 2007.

 

Update and operational Standard Operating Procedures reviewed and placed in service by August 1, 2007.

 

Fleet equipped with two new 2007 Ford Crown Victoria police vehicles, this placing the fleet in the appropriate operational mode for law enforcement Activities in our community.

 

All officers fully certified with the exception of Officer Bean who will be attending the Police Academy in January 2008.

 

Four week standardized schedule developed, supported by calls for service and activity identification levels.

 

Standards developed for Bristol Police Department part time officers regarding position responsibilities, commitment, and training.

 

Citizen award program developed for honoring Bristol residents who assist in public safety endeavors or initiatives.

 

Grant funding approved for:

 

Profile Falls patrols - $7686.00 to financially support patrol work currently and historically being performed daily by our department. Grant being provided by U.S. Army Corp of engineer’s.

 

New Hampshire Highway Safety grant for additional radar patrols being performed throughout our community.

 

Grant for Leadership Training being provided by the Local Government Center in Concord for $15,000 in regard to Leadership Training Program for Lt. Michael Lewis.

 

Partnerships:

 

Partnership’s developed with Newfound Regional School District, individual school leadership and an updated MOU signed by Superintendent in conjunction with the Chief of the Bristol Police Department and placed in operational service.

 

Re-certification of Bristol Police Department Dare officer program along with the development of numerous curriculum safety programs for the Newfound Regional School District concerning the Bristol schools.

 

Partnership enhanced with Bristol Community Center on a number of community related activities.

 

Partnership with Freudenberg Incorporated in regard to emergency planning, joint training, and sharing their crisis management center.

 

Partnership enhanced with NACA and the law enforcement agencies surrounding Newfound Lake.

 

Partnership enhanced with Voices Against Violence regarding their assistance in the Bristol area and responsiveness with our department in domestic violence and sexual assault related issues.

 

Development of Police Explorer Program for the Bristol Police Department.

 

Participant in student intern program with New Hampshire Technical Institute, in Concord.
