TREASURER’S REPORT: George Corrette reported that he had not been able to balance the checkbook as it has been at the town office for the annual audit. He reported that the UBS was at $122,047.00 at the end of March. He also reported that the NHPDIP was at $81,000.00 and growing steadily at about 5%.
CORRESPONDENCE: Deborah Gilbert received a notice from the Trustees’ Association for some upcoming workshops.
OLD BUSINESS: Roger Nicholls referred to a question by Glenn Dorr at the April meeting. Glenn had asked if there was a fee for managing each sub account in the UBS portfolio. George Corrette reported that it is based on cash out commission.
Deborah Doe e-mailed Scott Johnson from Rural Development about attending a Trustees’ meeting. She has not received a response and will e-mail him again.
Deborah Gilbert reported that she and Roger Nicholls had started on the updated job descriptions. Roger Nicholls has given her the updated job description for the head librarian position to review. Deborah Gilbert reported that the timing was good as the town would be starting the pay classification study and the updated job descriptions would be helpful in the process.
Deborah Doe asked about the new typewriter and Deborah Gilbert reported that she had not gotten a proposal together yet. Deborah Doe said that she had a typewriter that she could donate and Deborah Gilbert said she would be willing to look at it and see if it would be useable for the library.
NEW BUSINESS: Deborah Doe stated how much she appreciated all of the extra effort and commitment displayed by Cindy Westfall and James Haskell during the recent bereavement leave of Deborah Gilbert and Deborah Thouin. She thought it would be appropriate to recognize them in some way. Deborah Doe made a motion to purchase a $75 gift certificate to the Homestead for Cindy Westfall and a $50 gift certificate to the Tanger Outlet Mall for James Haskell, Roger Nicholls seconded and the motion carried as all were in favor.
There was discussion concerning the upcoming Montreal to Boston bike race and what the library might want to do for a possible fundraiser. Selling bottled water and/or fresh lemonade was suggested. Some type of food event was another suggestion. Roger Nicholls said that we have an ideal location. He also suggested possibly doing a bike decorating contest for boys and girls to tie in with the bike theme of the event and help to raise awareness for the library. Deborah Gilbert said that she would be attending the Dept. Head meeting and would check with Elizabeth Corrow to see if she had any thoughts on how the library could be involved.
