BOARD OF TRUSTEES’ MEETING - MINOT-SLEEPER LIBRARY

TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 13, 2007

PRESENT: Deborah Doe, Chairman, George Corrette, Finances, Roger Nicholls, Deborah Gilbert, Secretary/Librarian

ABSENT: Penny Persico, Co-Chairman, Barbara Greenwood, Shirley Yorks, Bill Barrett

SECRETARY’S REPORT: Without a quorum present a vote to accept the minutes could not be taken. The January minutes will have to be read and accepted at the March meeting.

TREASURER’S REPORT: George Corrette reported a balance of 123,996.01 in the checking account. He will be transferring 115,000.00 to the UBS account. Mark Rabbe will be sending a suggested profile of investments that George will be presenting to the board for approval possibly at the March meeting. They will be looking for something with potential for growth, diversity and low risk.

There is currently 6,600.00 in the UBS account. The transfer of 115,000.00 will bring the total up to 121,000.00.

The library has about 80,000.00 currently in the NHPDIP.

George reported that the library had received and paid the first bill from Barbara Lehocky and is expecting a second.

CORRESPONDENCE: None

OLD BUSINESS: We received a denial from the Franklin Savings Bank grant application. We are still waiting word from the Rural development grant and the Preservation grant applications.

NEW BUSINESS: Roger Nicholls suggested that the library look into the NH Electric Co-op and Verizon for possible grant funding.

PUBLICITY: Ongoing.

LIBRARIAN’S REPORT: Deborah Gilbert reported that enough time has passed that the library can apply for another book grant from both the Libri Foundation and CLiF.

Deborah Gilbert reported that she had received an estimate for $85 from Karen Bush to paint the new signs for the library. The signs are for the phone number and hours of operation for the library.

The remainder of the meeting was spent preparing a FAQ (frequently asked

questions) sheet to be handed out at town meeting. Hopefully this will help to inform people of the progress on the building and expansion and answer any possible questions.

Respectfully submitted,

Deborah Gilbert
