Bristol Old Home Day

June 29, 2007

Meeting Minutes

Present:  Claire Moorhead, Joe Denning, Barbara Greenwood, Stephanie Phillips, Sue Marchand, Leslie Dion

Entertaiment:  We are planning on Chuck Noel from 10 am – 2 pm.  Joe is working with the Mill Ice Cream owners to get Country & Western bands from 2 – 4:30 pm and he is contacting John Farese for the dinner hour.  Les will contact Doug Williams to see about a flatbed for a stage.

Joe reports that he has spoken with Ken Bonafant of the Shriners and they think they can get something for the parade.  Joe thinks it will be the bikes.

It was agreed that the Remax Hot Air Balloon ride donations would go to Bristol Community Services again this year.

Les reports that we have five craft booths at this time and it would be good to get this info in a press release to attract more crafters.

Joe said the Lion’s Club will pay for the mailing of the business letters.

Stephanie has agreed to co-chair the parade if Bruce Van Derven is willing to help her.  The Lion’s plan to have a float in the parade.  We will need judges and prizes for each category.  Claire suggested doing a Youth, Commercial and Civic division.  She will put this on the registration form.  The Car Show already has three registrations.  We will need to get ribbons for this as well.  Claire will work on having some ribbons made and get back to us.  Les will work on the parade permit.

Joe will follow up on the pony rides.

Advertising:  Sue was setting up cooperative ads as full page ads for two weeks before the event in the Enterprise .  Claire will supply Sonia with the letter for sponsorship opportunities so that if she talks to people about advertising she can give them all info.  Stephanie will be working on PR with Sue and Claire.

The next meeting will be Friday, 7/6 at 10:30 am at the TTCC.
